Bjorn Phau @ Ricardas Berankis
The odds movement in this game is really strange for me because yesterday, when odds were opened, Phau was priced about @ 1.600, now he's nearly @ 1.900 (@ 1.900 Sportingbet) and there's no reason for that at all. Probably public is impressed by Berankis win in first round over Ginepri in three-sets, where he was really dominating the match (when streaming came around) but in fact it was more American weakness and lack of effort than youngster amazing tennis. Ricardas is surely a talented player, he won a junior grand slam and have been playing rock solid in challengers in the beginning of 2010 (quarter-final, semi-final and first round exits) but generally speaking he's just a challenger player right now, without the power and experience to cope with Top100 opponents in my opinion (Ginepri is an exception, he's unmotivated for a while). In fact it was a first win in the circuit for Lithuanian (earlier lost two matches, back to 2007 against Odesnik and Fognini in straight sets) and though it's a huge achievement for him, I expect some kind of a letdown, especially that theoretically he didn't draw an unbeatable opponent in second round and he'll be under pressure. Youngsters, who're just entering circuit don't like that, really. There might be also a tiredness factor as he already played four important (as for his standards) games in here (must played qualifying), with two three-setter. His opponent is a typical journeyman who's underestimated by the bookmakers and public, mainly because of the fact that he's a hell of a boring player. In fact he's never been really good and won't be as is already 31 years-old but he's got huge experience and has been a Top100 player for a long time in the past. Now he's still a solid hard-courter, with loads of consistence on
Laimeti tikrai Berankis gali, bet argumentas tai ....
